About Cissy

Cissy Wechter found herself in the world of senior dating after losing her husband of 44 years to lung cancer in 1999. She began writing as the Fashion Editor of the Mount Vernon Junior High School newspaper, took journalism classes at Dorsey High School, received her BA in English at California State University Northridge, and later combined her two loves by becoming a successful women’s clothing retailer. Her customer base grew to 19,000, in part because of a monthly fashion newsletter she wrote, and Flair, her 5000 square foot store, was a fashion icon in Encino.

As a lyricist, Cissy wrote the words to “Spanish Flea”, her late husband’s biggest hit. It achieved standard status, recorded by over sixty artists. She wrote many other songs with him, as well as collaborating with other composers. They fulfilled a lifetime dream by co-writing the songs for “Growing Pains”, (the musical), which was produced three times in Los Angeles. She also co-authored a humor book, “Vintage Whines”, with her older son, David.

Cissy lives in Calabasas, California, and shares her life with her two sons and three grandsons, and currently with a man somewhere between their ages. During her senior dating days she received emails daily from men aged 18 to 87, covering every walk of life…from strutting to teetering. She feels very lucky to be surrounded on the outside by the peaceful hills, and inside by over 3500 books and many beautiful and interesting collectibles. She feels even luckier to be surrounded by her fabulous, loving friends and family.
